Review: Slide by Jill Hathaway

Slide (Slide, #1)Slide by Jill Hathaway
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have been wanting to read Slide for awhile now and when Imposter magically fell in my hands I just had to get my hands on the first book! Slide is a mystery thriller book that I have been lacking in my life and this fulfilled all my needs and more :)

Slide into the life of Vee, she is a teen with an unusual gift or what is known to her as a curse that allows her to become someone else when she touches them or something that has emotion tied with it. Vee was just like any other girl, popular and on the Cheer leading squad until her mother died from cancer and her sliding episodes began.Since then Vee keeps her gift/episodes to herself even from her best friend Rollings and younger sister Mattie, everyone believes that she is narcoleptic and Vee thinks she has everything under control. Until, one day she slides into her sisters best friend Sophie being brutally murdered, the police say she committed suicide and Vee has to prove to everyone that it isn't true. Vee is determined to find out who did this to Sophie before others turning up dead and her sister may be next.

I enjoyed this book so much, it kept me on my toes and I could never guess what was going to happen next and I loved how this book had the best of both worlds with the mystery element and paranormal twist along with it. I loved the main character Vee she was easy to relate to and funny and she really just made the whole story enjoyable for me to read. The only reason I gave Slide four stars is because I thought the whole story behind the killer could have been better, I think she could have done so many things with that part of the story but I can look past it because this story was still so great and original and I loved it :)

I recco this to all the mystery fans out there!!
